1) Cracked

Cracked is an online humor magazine with a large community of writers. Contributors to Cracked get paid $100-$250 per article. You can also apply to be a columnist if you are an experienced writer. 

They are looking for funny, original, well-researched articles, so if humor is your specialty, give them a shot.

2) International Living

International Living is a travel and lifestyle publication geared toward retirees. They are looking for writers to contribute stories that focus on the big picture rather than granular details. They like to see articles about places other than the United States, and they have a submission form where you can propose topics that interest you.

The pay rate is $100 for published postcards and $225-350 for stories published in the International Living Magazine.  

3) Listverse

They pay $100 per list, with the condition that it passes their editorial process and is accepted.

They focus on “Top 10” lists, so each list should be comprised of 10 items to make it easier for readers to scan through.

The content needs to be unique and informative (if you think outside the box a little you can come up with some unusual lists).

Are you enthusiastic about the business, marketing, and writing niches? You can get paid to write for blogs in these niches. The list below is of top business and freelance blogs that pay writers $50 or more per post. 

Most of the sites on this list are online magazines and blogs that pay for articles. These sites prefer writers who are experts in certain fields, but some sites accept posts from freelance writers in general categories.

The Write Life is a website that focuses on helping writers find better-paying gigs. They pay $75/post, and they expect articles to be around 800 words.

This website accepts pitches and outlines, not full articles. They prefer posts that are not too promotional or self-serving.

5) Writers Weekly

Writers Weekly is a weekly e-magazine that offers to pay for articles about the business of writing. They put out monthly issues and accept submissions from anyone, in any country. The site welcomes information on writing markets, current events, and anything else writers will find helpful.

They publish articles that specifically deal with making money through your writing, they also publish more general content geared toward the freelance writer lifestyle.

8) BMichellePippin

This blog by Michelle pays between $50-150, a month after publication. All payments are processed via PayPal.
