Is Cardcash Legit? … and Should You Use it?

Is CardCash Legit

When you go shopping with your gift cards, it’s very rare that you use up the entire balance. There’s always some small change that remains, and since you can’t just cash in, it’s usually wasted as you just end up throwing the gift cards with the balances down the trash.

You ask why?

Well, no one likes carrying a dozen gift cards, each with small balances to purchase items, especially not in physical stores. This inconvenience is what see most people choose just to throw them away.

Luckily, this isn’t the case anymore. There are now several companies that buy back those balances and reward you with cash or store discounts.

One such company is Cardcash, and in this blog post, I seek to answer everyone’s question:

Is Cardcash legit?

What is CardCash?

CardCash is an online gift card marketplace where you can buy, sell, and exchange discounted, unwanted, and unused gift cards for over 1100 various retailers.

Is Cardcash legit?

Established in 2009, and based in Newyork, Cardcash seems to be a legitimate company. It’s been in business for over 15 years and being a gift card company with quite a stiff competition, it’s always striving to ensure that sellers and buyers are satisfied.

That doesn’t however mean it doesn’t have its flaws. Most complaints online are due to the following reasons:

  • $1 credit card verification charge not being refunded
  • Delays in payments
  • Poor customer support when issues arise
  • Sign up frustration
  • Support not being able to help in case bank payments don’t reach the users’ accounts.

Issues when buying gift cards

The complaints aren’t just by those who are selling the cards on the platform, but also by the buyers as well.

Some people who have bought cards on CardCash have complained that the balances sort of disappeared after a few days. The company does offer a 45-day guarantee, but the refund seems to take longer, and requires back-and-forth engagement with the support…

CardCash prices

How much you earn seems to depend on the gift card retailer, but the company claims that you can make up to 92% of the gift card balance, but is usually less. That’s still a good deal though, especially if the gift card was for a store where you would otherwise not have shopped.

Should you use Cardcash?

Probably not, especially if you are planning to sell or purchase gift cards worth a couple hundred dollars. The reviews online show that, even though this is a legitimate company, it has poor policies when it comes to transparency and dealing with issues.

There are several more profitable ways to make money online that you should consider instead of selling unused gift cards.
