- Creating engaging content for social media
- Writing SEO blog posts
- Crafting highly persuasive sales copy.
At the moment, Jasper has two plans: Jasper AI Boss Mode, and the Starter plan. The starter plan is designed for generating short copy, while the Jasper Boss Mode plan is suitable for long-form content such as sales copy, email newsletters, and articles.
In this article, we review the Boss Mode plan to help you decide if it’s worth grabbing your copy today.
What is Jasper AI Boss Mode?
Jasper Boss Mode is a plan that unlocks some powerful AI features that enable you to direct the AI to generate content your way. As the name suggests, this plan makes you the boss, and the AI your writing assistant.
Starter Vs Boss Mode plans
The main difference between these two plans is that with the Starter plan you do not have access to the Document editor, a vital tool for creating long-form content. Other features that are only available in the Boss Mode include Jasper Chat and Jasper Commands.
Jasper Boss Mode Features
Here are some of the best tools and features that you can unlock when you sign up or upgrade to the Boss Mode plan:
1) Document Editor
The Document Editor is the best way to create long-form content such as blog posts and sales copy using Jasper.
While the editor in itself is clean and very basic (Google Docs and Microsoft Word without all the bells and whistles), its power comes with the use of templates, the write more button, and commands for generating content.
From the left sidebar, navigate to the Documents tab and click on the plus icon to create a new document. You are presented with three options:
- Freeform with any template — here you start from scratch
- Workflows — Use pre-bundled templates to write complete long-form content using the given steps for different content types.
- Blog post starter — use this option to quickly generate title ideas and intro paragraphs for your blog post.
You can edit and format your content from the editor and these formatting styles will be preserved when you download or copy-paste it from Jasper Editor to WordPress or Google Docs.
2) Jasper Chat
If you’ve tinkered with Chat GPT, then you know that the future of AI writing is Conversational AI. Built on top of OpenAI tools, Jasper Chat is a new way to interact with AI for content generation.
As a Boss Mode user, you can leverage this tool to create almost any type of content. During its beta stage, any content you generate using this playground does not consume your credits.
3) Document Management
With access to Documents, you need a way to easily find and edit the documents. Luckily, Jasper allows you to group your docs into Projects.
From the Documents page, you can rename, duplicate, move to different projects or delete docs.
4) Unlock Unlimited Runs
With the Starter plan, you are forced to write a few words on your own before you can click the Write more button again. This in itself can be quite limiting.
By upgrading to Boss Mode, you can complete the article without ever having to type anything on your own.
5) Jasper AI Commands
This is where the power of Boss Mode truly comes into play. Jasper Commands allows you to instruct the AI to generate any type of content from within the editor so that you don’t always have to switch between different copywriting templates.
To make this process easier, Jasper introduced Jasper Recipes, and the most popular one is the Blog Post Recipe which has been downloaded over 186K times.
6) Workflows
Another great feature unlocked with the Boss Mode plan is Workflows. Workflows allow you to streamline the content creation process, helping you generate long-form copy with just a few steps.
You can use Workflows for
- Rewriting content
- Generating blog posts
- Writing email campaigns
- Creating content for social media campaigns
7) Higher Quality Outputs
The reason why Boss Mode is best suited for long-form content is that it has extended character lookback, which allows it to continue to generate content within context, however long the doc is.
Jasper looks back up to 3000 characters back on the already generated content, analyses it, and uses the data to inform the next generations.
Without Boss Mode, Jasper can only analyze the previous 600 characters, which should be fine if you are creating a short LinkedIn post, or an ad copy.
Jasper Boss Mode FAQs
Is Jasper Boss Mode free?
No. Jasper Boss Mode is not free. It starts at $59/month (month to month) or $49/month (paid annually) and enables you to write stories, long-form articles, social media posts, and eBooks more quickly than an ordinary copywriter.
What is Boss Mode in Jasper?
Boss Mode is the plan that allows you to generate long-form content using the Document editor and is suitable for creating SEO blog posts, newsletters, and sales copy. Other features included in this plan include document management, Jasper Chat, Jasper commands, etc.
How to Use Jasper Boss Mode
There are two ways to create content with Boss Mode:
- Jasper Power Mode
- Jasper commands
- Workflows
a) Jasper Power Mode
To create a new document, navigate to the left sidebar, and look for the Documents tab. Click on the plus (+) icon. You will be presented with the three options below:
- Freeform with any template
- Workflows
- Blog post starter
Choose either Freeform or Blog post starter options. Be sure to name your document accordingly. Next, you’re taken to the document editor. Make sure the power mode is toggled on, as this allows you to switch templates as you build up your content.
From the left sidebar of the editor, you can set the content title, brief description, tone of voice, and keywords. The AI will use these inputs to write your content.
To turn on Power mode, toggle the icon in the middle of the editor, next to the eye icon. This mode displays AI templates adjacent to the editor helping you generate different parts of your content and then add them directly to your document without reloading the page.
You can also use jasper commands in the power mode, so this isn’t a limitation but an added convenience to your generation process.
b) Workflows
From above, instead of choosing the freeform or blog post starter, you can opt for Workflows instead.
In Jasper, Workflows are a series of steps that leverage different preselected AI templates to create a specific type of content. To create a blog post, select the Blog Post Workflow.
c) Jasper AI Commands
Another way of using Boss Mode is by relying on commands. By instructing the AI to create any type of content, you become the real boss here.
Examples of commands you can use for say a blog post include:
- Write a brief for [topic here]
- Generate blog post ideas on [topic here]
- Create a blog outline for a blog post on [topic here]
- Write an intro paragraph to a blog post on [topic here]
- Write about [subheading 1]
- Write about [subheading 1]
- Write about [subheading 1]
- Write about [subheading 1]
- Write about [subheading 1]
- Generate a detailed blog conclusion on [topic here]
As you probably can tell, these commands are almost the same for any content that falls within the same use case (blog post, social media post, sales copy, etc.) Thus, you can turn these commands into mini-templates that you can run them anytime.
d) SEO Mode
Jasper integrates with Surfer SEO, a powerful content optimization tool based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) tech. It’s an on-page SEO tool that provides you with great insights and suggestions based on 500+ factors.
With Surfer integration, you can:
- Get suggestions on what search terms to include, and the suggested frequency
To turn on SEO Mode, follow these steps:
- Go to Workspace settings
- Toggle it “ON” in the Customizations Panel
Once activated, a third icon (surfer icon) then appears in the Document editor, allowing you to move from power mode to SEO mode really quickly. To start using Surfer, click on this icon to unlock Surfer left sidebar dashboard. You do need to be logged in to your Surfer account (active) for this to work.
If you are new to Surfer, you can get your first month for just $1 as a Jasper user.
