Remember, in copywriting; we focus on the benefits and the why, not the features. So, since we are talking about AI copywriters, let’s try and run a FAB template on it.

Before— After— Bridge

Before: Emphasize how your prospect’s world looks like right now before trying out your services.

After: Have your prospects imagine the future when that pain point has been dealt with (by your solution)

Bridge: Offer the bridge. Between Before and After, there’s a missing piece, which is your magic wand. Your product is how your prospects can bridge that gap.

AI Copywriting Limitations

While AI tools might be able to churn out high volumes of text quickly, they won’t always come up with something brilliant or original. And that’s okay! Because even though they can’t match us word for word, they can certainly provide us valuable content to work with. 

That said, here are three limitations worth noting:

1) Limited Creativity

Unlike humans, who possess both conscious and subconscious minds, AI tools only operate within the confines of their programming. As such, they aren’t capable of generating new concepts entirely on their own.

This means that they won’t come up with original ideas unless you provide explicit instructions. And even then, human intervention will always be needed to perfect the generated copy.  Otherwise, they will simply repeat whatever was last used.

2) Failure to Emulate Human Emotions

Appealing to people’s emotional side is one of the most powerful strategies that veteran copywriters use in wording their copy. AI copywriting tools still struggle when it comes to writing copy that isn’t just good on paper but one that your target readers connect and relate with. 

As these tools continue to be developed, however, it is likely that more personalized and effective copy can be generated using AI. To achieve this today, you need to carefully craft your instruction for AI tools to follow, including the following:

  • Marketing angle
  • Your branding style
  • Tone

3) Lack of Contextual Understanding
